01. Confirm what you need to waive before you start

Most students who buy alternative insurance apply to waive the Student Health Insurance Plan. The Student Health Fee can only be waived under a few special conditions listed by Harvard; having other insurance alone does not waive the Student Health Fee.

02. Prepare this information before submitting

  • Harvard account: log in to the Student Insurance Portal with your HarvardKey.
  • Insurance ID Card: prepare front and back screenshots; they must be clear and readable when uploaded.
  • Member ID / Group Number: use the values shown on your insurance card or policy.
